Legal
Terms of Use
Last updated: 16 September 2026.
Trusted Tradies provides directory information that helps users discover and contact independent trade businesses. By using the site, you agree to these terms.
No endorsement or guarantee
A listing or verification badge is not a recommendation, warranty, or guarantee of workmanship, availability, price, safety, solvency, insurance cover, or legal compliance. A badge describes only the specific check recorded on the profile. Users must make their own enquiries before engaging a business.
Directory information
We take reasonable steps to review records, but information can change. Businesses and submitters must provide accurate, current information and promptly request corrections. We may edit, suspend, or remove a profile where information is disputed, outdated, misleading, unlawful, or inconsistent with these terms.
Quotes and contracts
Trusted Tradies is not a party to agreements between users and listed businesses. Pricing, scope, scheduling, payment, warranties, and disputes are matters between those parties.
Claims and verification
Claimants must be owners or authorised representatives and provide truthful evidence. Verification evidence may be rechecked, expire, or be withdrawn. Badges are hidden when a recorded check is expired or no longer supported.
Owner accounts and sourced listings
A sourced listing does not imply consent, endorsement or verification. Account access is granted only after an authority review and can be revoked. Owner edits are proposals until approved; owners cannot award badges or change legal-entity records themselves. Keep your account secure and contact us promptly if your authority changes or you suspect unauthorised access.
Reviews
Customer ratings and testimonials are not offered at launch. If introduced, they will use a documented process intended to connect feedback with a real job and address disputes.
Acceptable use
Do not submit false information, impersonate another person or business, interfere with the site, harvest contact details, or use directory information for unlawful or unsolicited marketing.
Liability
To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, Trusted Tradies is not liable for decisions made using directory information or for acts or omissions of listed businesses. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will show the updated date. New Zealand law governs these terms.
These launch terms should be reviewed by a New Zealand lawyer once the operating entity, address, and complaints process are confirmed.
